Guys, I have a 10-12" Aurantimaculata that I seperated from 3 when a pair formed.
I am having a big house move in Feb 2010 and I think he needs to go.
Anyone In japan that would like this stunning specimin, please let me know before He gets sold privately here.
It is a male, and in perfect health. His coloration is amazing, and is very active and feeds on both pellets and live foods.
Here is a photo from a while back:
Just incase anyone is interested and they are not too clued up on this fish, here is some important info on it:
Scientific name: Channa Aurantimaculata
Common name: Golden Spotted Cobra Snakehead
Max Size: 16" (often a little more)
A sub tropical snakehead, this one seems to thrive between 19c and 22c
This one is a good eater, so expect to easily reach the 16" maybe more.
Aurantimaculatas should not be mixed with any other fish. That being said, this one has spent 6 months in a tank with 1x Channa sp.redfin, 1x Channa Bleheri and 1x Channa sp.Fire&Ice with no aggression shown other than a defensive nip at the Fire and Ice once.
