I'm getting a bigger tank for my polys and i saw one of these gorilla racks and i wonder if i can use one as a base, you think they can handle the weigth? any one have use one of these before?

I've read about MFKers using these rack systems for tanks
A few tips:

- Compare the dimensions of your tanks foot print, to what is manufactured by gorilla.

- Calculate the weight of the aquarium based on 1g of water = 8.33lbs, and how many pounds of substrate you plan to use (if any) etc... and compare to the weight capacity of the rack system

thanks cohazard, 1 gal. = 8.33 lbs. i dont think i can use it then :( the specifications are 384 lbs. per shelf and the rack has 6 shelfs, but the weigth its going to concentrate in two of the sehelfs so..

I've purchased SEVERAL metal racks, gorilla racks included, and they've all held up. But then again they were all rated at 1500-2500 lbs. per shelf if evenly distributed. I currently have a 48"x18" rack system that I purchased from Costco that holds 55g.-60g. tanks just fine. Keep looking around and compare brands.... you'll find one.
