Somewhere
I had two fish in my qt tank. One peacock bass with fin rot from fighting and one tsn with Ick. The temperature was already 82F and the tank already had salt in it. The fin rot cured and I thought the Ick cured because I didn't see it on the peacock bass, but this morning I went in to check on them and the peacock bass has spots all over his fins and the tsn is acting all crazy zooming around all over the tank, so apparently the high temp and salt didn't work. What can I do now?

How long did you do the salt treatment? Ich takes two weeks to be eliminated completely so do not cut short the salt treatment. Continue treatment 10 days after ich disappears to be sure the parasites are completely eliminated. Turn off the lights to prevent them from getting stressed. Any stress related factors must be eliminated.

Did you dissolve salt?
How much salt was added?
Is water well aerated?

I have been treating for about 6 days now. The lights have been off. There isn't any reason for them to be stressed.

It is aquarium salt, so I didn't think I needed to dissolve it before adding it.

I put in the recommended amount on the box, 5 teaspoons per 10 gallons.

The tank is aerated. I don't know about highly.
