Got 2x Cichla Ocellaris Coming On Friday!

Hi guys,

I have a 7 x 3 x 3 Tank with two Oscars, two jack Dempsey & a clown knife fish.
Got two 3 Inch Ocellaris coming on Friday so was just wondering if you guys had any tips? or cautions?

I have done extensive research on this website and others so im pretty much clued up but just wonder if you guys could give me any advice?

I wouldn't get the occels. They're all farm bred that are just mixed breeds of bass on the market, most turn out ugly. You'll realise that a year after growing them out and then go looking for that nice one, find it and spend another year growing that one out. Unless your lucky to find a large nice bass on the market you'll have to start from scratch again. The larger ones are like gold dust and small ones nearly as hard to find but they do come up usually when you haven't the space for them.

Ive seen the picture of them and they look quite nice, my LFS are orderding them.
If too ugly, I will raise em to they wont get eaten in my LFS display tank and get a pair of MONO's off ebay.

not sure about the oscars with small ones.. lost my ocel when 2 oscars decided to gang up on him..
