Got a baby Bichir

The little bugger is only about 2 inches long
... when I feed him today I will try to get a good photo of him!

He hangs around near the surface of the tank by the overflows or suction cup for the power head ...

I was worried a bit yesterday when I saw him there, so I went to scoop him up and he laid his head on my finger - so I rubbed his belly!

He is so not afraid of the hand!

He was labeled as a Dinosaur Bichir ... haven't verified it yet,

the new baby has some speckling on him ...

senegals will have some black dots on them yeah, some more than others but definitely normal.

Sen's loose those black stripes/dots as they grow. I would be a little worried if it just let you pick it up,but if it's eating, then you're golden.

New bichirs prefer to hide near the top of the tank, especially if you have floating plants that would make it easier for them to do that. But it only takes a couple of days for them to settle in and start exploring the tank.

I've seen some cool 'hammocks' in one of our members poly tanks. I think it was elbeatch, not 100% on who, but it was a great idea.

you could grow out the seneglas in a 20 gallon, but they can't stay in there for life.....just hopin you know that
