EDIT: Woooah sorry, totally a 120g, not 75g. Oops. Not that it matters toward the question. But I feel dumb.

Sup,
So the music store I used to work at had a pretty nappy 75g (4'x2'x2' I think) reef tank that was maintained by a lfs (nappy b/c not a lot of money was going into it, the maintenance crew was great), but the owner wanted the space for merchandise so I got the tank, cabinet and canopy for free if I hauled t off. I pretty much tossed all the sump and filter equipment because it was very old and in bad shape, and gave the whole thing a much needed cleaning (saaaaaaalllt). The tank looks over built, I swear the glass is 3/4 an inch thick, so I'm pretty excited about it. The only problem is that the overflow pipe was stuck right up the middle of the tank (there was reef rock piled around it in a sort of island look), so I have this big ~3" hole right smack in the center of the tank (not just centered in the back, but centered vert. and horz.).

I live in an apartment so I'm paranoid about leaks/blowouts, what can I do to safely, permanently seal the hole? If I HAVE to, I can keep the overflow there, but I'd hate having it in the middle. The plan was to use canister(s) anyway.
