My bestfriends dad had this cage and didnt want it, so he gave it to me and im wondering wat kind of snake to get for in there.

She is 2ft long x 29" (front to back) x 1ft high.

Looks similar to the vision cages on http://www.visionproducts.us/htm7/cages.html
It also has the vent on the back.

Great pick up! You could easily keep a variety of snakes;

-Corn Snakes
-King Snakes
-Garter Snakes
-Sand Boas
-Rosy Boas
-Ball Python (for a long time)
Thier others more of the snake keeper members will chime soon

I have a wild caught garter snake thts a lil over a foot in a 10 gal until i set up the 55 gal. But im going to the reading reptile expo july 28 and will most likely be getting a cornsnake, king, or a milksnake for it

weird dimensions but nice pickup. cornsnakes are good choices. they are rarely aggressive, unlike these awful bullsnakes i got at a petshow. they were great at the show, then when i got home they were the meanest SOBs ive ever seen. i sold them in 3 months!

Hey I know this is off topic.. but do you remember when you bought your snakes? By this I mean were they sold where thier were no heat lamps on them?

One of the ways some vendors sell thier reptiles by keeping them away from heat lamps as this makes snakes and lizards some what submissive.

Not trying to give them a bad name to vendors just saying that what happens with some reptiles when purchased at area where thier are know heat lamps.

Buying reptiles from expos is the best, I will never purchase a reptile from any LRS around me.

Lol good luck with that!

I say that because when ever I go to an expo I have something in my mind I defiantly want and then I buy something completely different. Expos show so much reptiles lol so hard just to get what you came for and not walk around lol

Also before going to the expo try having your cage already for it. This is the most difficult for me, I'm never ready when I bring home a reptile...

Lol exactly but it is probably worth it...think about it. How the easiness of just coming home and placing your critter straight into the tank? With an already heated up basking spot and such.

One day I will get that feeling lol, the only problem is that everything at expos are dirt cheap o thats why I usually buy everything along with the critter even the tank lol. What I'm probably going to try is go to an expo buy a tank and buy a bunch of stuff that any reptile would need. Then the next expo purchase the critter an some other more directed shelters for it....

awful!? What temps were you keeping them at? high temps can give them a bad attitude, but some can just be mean no matter what,
Sorry, I just love pituophis lol
