Just upgraded from my 55 to a 150 (48"x24"x30") with a 20 gallon sump/ wet-dry filter. Got it all for $400 so I am pretty happy. moved my fish over about a week ago...they seem pretty happy now. In the new tank I have: 1 8" oscar, 1 6" green terror, 1 6" dempsey, 1 8" pleco and an 18" freshwater eel. Was thinking of giving my eel to a friend (and possibly the pleco as well, seeing as how he leaves 40' strings of poo all around my tank) and getting something else. Possibly a catfish, or loach to pick up the slack of not having the pleco anymore, or perhaps a shark. Prolly not going to get any other cichlids, as I don't want to mush aggression. Any suggestions as to what I should get?

Thanks in advance!

a group of large clown loaches

Thanks for your response!

I was thinkng about going with loaches, but I had some questions. First, are they even compatible with the other fish I have in there? Second, I have read that they can get to be roughly 12" but probably more like 8" in a tank. Is that correct? Finally, I read that ehy are MUCH happier when in a group of 3-5. I don't think my tank can support an Oscar, Dempsey, Terror, and 3-5 Loaches. Can it?

personally i wanna say its a 120, but yea it can support it, my 125 supporsts jd, gt, and my oscar all about your size, with 3 balas, a red devils a pleco your fine man. Plus the chilids you have are not that aggresive imo

nope, it's a 150, 149.82 to be exact, your thinking 48x24x24, and a group of loaches would do the tank well

are you saying you think my tank is 120? I'm pretty sure it comes to 150 but I could be wrong. Any ways, I guess it sounds as though you have far more fishies than I do. Do you recommend anything different? If I go with loaches should I get 3-5? The more I read about them, it seems like they really need to be in groups.

Was thinking of getting a synodontis (sp?) as I have seen a bunch of photos of them on this site. They are beautiful, but I have not done mush research on them yet.

Thanks for your help, yo.

You could go with clown loaches but only get a few. That tank will be over stocked eventually. What type of eel is it? Keep up on water changes.

great! thats a nice score and yes ur tank is 150...
u can keep loaches in there as long as its not small that can fit in the oscars mouth.
