I would be concerned about that sand. I think its OK since your Leo is older but personally I wouldn't go with anything other than tile, carpet, paper towel, and newspaper. Also do you have a humid hide. Normally you shouldn't see any of the shed still on the gecko. Did you buy him like that? Make sure that he doesn't have any shed still on his toes or he could lose them. I rescued mine with missing toes since they don't provide a humid hide at Petco.

Congrats on the leopard. He looks healthy. But I'm a little concerned about his shedding as well. My geckos always shed everything in just about 1 piece. Anyways, make sure you have a humid place for him to hide in. If your using sand, keep it clean and change it once a month. Good luck with your new gecko!

Well Leos aren't really jungle geckos. They are terrestrial so more rocky/desert like I spose. Can you show us the full tank shot so far?
