got a new cat need some help

ok soi just got a sailfin synodontis cat bout 3 inches long im new to cats so this may sound dumb but he hides alot and lays upside down and acts funny during the day is this normal wat should i feed him any advice thanks

sounds normal to me... he is new ...and he is stressed and in time after he settles in he will be more visible... and also as he gets older and more sure of his environment... you can feed him any sinking foods... they especially like hikari sinking pellets... raw shrimp pieces.. {heads and tails removed}... frozen silversides... krill and frozen blood worms... he will scurry around after those blood worms... lol... also any good quality sinking cat fish pellet.... what tank mates are with him... being i have mine with african cichlids i feed mine what they eat... hikari sinking pellets... but if you only have the catfish ...then feed catfish pellets ...a little more protein for him...

its a synodontis eupterus I would imagine, I dont like the common names for fish, being that they are so vague no one really knows what you are talking about. He will probably swim upside down from time to time and he will hide.

thats sounds just fine... try and plant some food on bottom getting passed the others... i do it everyday...
