It's a wild male, about 6 inches. He's pretty beat up and I'm hoping he'll pull through alright. I thought he was dead when I opened the bag (ammonia smell, fish not moving) but I ran some fresh water over his gills and he started twitching
He's in a QT by himself. Not swimming but staying in a corner. His gill movements are steady and he seems alert (eyes following me through the tank glass.) I dosed some broad spectrum antibiotics because of his fin damage (looks like the start of fin rot on his tail fin.)
It will be at least a few weeks until he heals up enough to even consider adding him to my main tank.
Even though he's in bad shape now I'm still excited.
PS- I'm selling my Red Terror. Looks like it's turning out to be male and I wanted a female. Hope I can get a good deal from the LFS since it's getting too cold to ship here (first snow last night!
