Got a 4.5 inch crocodile gecko today! Set it up in its own little tank with everything it needs. It actually got out at the store when they took him out of the tank and got under a refrigerator. It took 45 minutes and 3 people to get him out! :ROFL: He's very healthy looking and very good colors, and was only $15. I'll try to get pictures later, but he's currently hanging upside down in his cave. I have to say that he is a nice addition to my growing herp collection.
 
Gotta find the camera, but I will say when I opened the lid to add a few mealworms today he hissed at me! :naughty: It was quite a shock, because my leopard gecko hasn't hissed since I bought her. This little guy is very vocal is very vocal compared to her.

The only mistake I made was putting a piece of corkbark in the tank; he always sits on it, and I can barely see him becaus e of his camoflauge:grinno:.
 
No wonder he hisses, he is upset. For him the running away and the capture was extremely stressfull. Put lots of hidding places available to him, even if it compromises your viewing and let him be. With time he will come around.
 
He's got lots of hiding places, and is much more relaxed today. I will say though, I thought the 4 white spots on his back were different than the crocodile geckos and after research I found out that he is actually a white spotted gecko. I'm fine with it, but I wonder why he was mislabeled. I guess the 2 species are closely related and look similar, with similar care requirements though.
