Hey guys, I recently got a used sump from someone for a great price. I will be adding it to my african cichlid tank. The sump was used on a saltwater tank. My question is how do I properly clean the bio balls off as to not contaminate my current setup..or should I just purchase new bio balls to be safe. Thanks in advance

get a tub of warm water and swash them around for a while, even get a hose with a powerful spray setting and shoot it at the bio-balls in the tub, empty then do it again. do that a couple times to be sure. but the best bio-media is little dish scrubbers. it would take 3-4 bio-balls to get the same amount of bio-capacity as the dish scrubbers. plus it would save you time from washing them

Where is the best place to get the dish scrubbers
