Got a new toy, that wasn't all inclusive as stated...

So I found what I thought was a great deal. I got a 150 gallon, with stand, glass top, and a canister filter (rena xp3) Well he said that all the peices were in the box with some other stuff... No parts to be found. Go figure. So I am looking at a nice filter, (which I need to figure out if it works) and I have one of the intakes, but not the other, and thats pretty much it .

So I need to get advice from you knowledeable people. I know that there has to be some way to set this up without me having to buy a new kit. I will if I have to, but I really don't want to. Any Ideas? How should I set this up. Is there a DIY way?

he didn't come through on what he said...hes a liar and u need to look at everything before u buy it.

as u can see some people cant be trusted and its always best just to check for ur self

I would go back, but after spending so much time rebuilding the stand, re-siliconing the tank and already setting it up to cycle using a few HOB filters in the mean time, I just can't drive that far, plus I can't find his contact info. I learned from the mistake, but am proud of how the tank has turned out so far. I do feel sheepish for not looking at the box of stuff, but I never set up a canister filter before. It's always been HOBs for me. I only paid 300 for it all. The guy was creepy though... thats probably why I wanted to get out so quick .

Creepy people.. Gotta be careful. I never let people over in the past to buy stuff at my house off of craigs list for that very reason.

I second that! I only let ppl over that I've met before. There are too many crazy people out there. I still don't get this question(s). It's best if you can post of pictures of "everything in the box" so everyone can understand what is everything.

come on guys.....

i had 3 strangers over in the past week.. my planted tank has gotten so over grown i had to sell some of my trimmings..the trimmings could fill another couple 15 gallon tanks... i also had a bunch of media, powerheads and lights to sell.

its cool having fellow aquarists come visit u and give u money for crap u don't want, even if their random people

the people here in Vancouver are pretty tame compared to some major American cities.. i admit..

but i would never refuse a deal on account of the way someone looks or acts. if they carry a gun or knife that's a different story or if ur a little girl that likes candy and puppies.

what I believe he's asking is.................is there a way to jerry rig another hose and most likely the media baskets are missing. Just a guess???????
