How hardy are RTC to ich? We just recently got our little guy a few weeks ago, and hes still only like 3.5 inches long. We bought an electric blue cichlid from the petstore and then guess what? We started seeing the white spots on some of the other fish. So we are thinking that it came from him. The redtail doesnt seem to have it just yet. He is small enough that we can isolate him till we fix the problem. Water changes and ich treatment. We already lost two 7 inch clown loaches because of this... not tooooo happy at all... Really want the catfish to make it and not perish like his other two tank mates...

i dont know about ich and at a small size i would imagine their a little more seseptible than when there larger. when my RTC was 18in his head was completely covered in fungurs. his head would float at the top of the tank and his tail was laying at the bottom. He had it for a few weeks but we upped the temp and added salt. I thought for sure he was a gonner but he made a full recovery. Try upping the temp and adding salt... good luck with him

Add half the suggested does of salt for catfish and up the temp to around 86F and add some sort of surface agitation.

Temp has been raised and i already added some conditioning salt and just got some ich treatment... he seems to be doing fine... i just dont want him to get it and meet the same fate as the loaches...
