In the fish section LOL
I was just wondering I was thinking about getting a small 3" TSN for the LFS I have a 220 currently that i can put him in to begin with. I was wondering how long i could keep him in there and what size he could grow to before he gets moved out to a bigger set up.

Just incase your wondering I have a 500 gallon pond he would go into to get to full size (jUst so i dont get flamed about the small tank to begin with)

Thanks OScar

He could probably live there for 1.5 - 1 years.

2 to 3 years max
but keeping anything else with it is going to be risky as they would devour anything that might fit in their mouth and they are great hunters, so no matter whether the other fish is fast, small, top dweller,or what ever if he fits in the cats mouth he is just feeder fish

As usual no one asked the obvious question... What is the foot print of the tank? TSN's are much like RTC's in this respect as they are a big fish that will use a wider tank much better than a tall tank... if your 220 is 18" then your looking at a year if it's 24 then your looking at POSSIBLY (doubtful but possible) 2 years but no more than that unless your stunting it's growth and shortening it's life.

this is true!

2 to 3 years, give the width of the tank.

1-2 years is possibly the one time you can keep it in that size of a tank...square tank's are IMO better than just plain long...just to give them a long space and a huge turning point where its possible to swim in all directions
