Other then having a corner overflow I couldn't figure out from the pictures where the holes were located. I am guessing there is a hole under the overflow to feed a sump and the others are return lines. It looks like it was a SW tank.

it was a sw tank it had salt caked on the side but came of easily
as for the returns there are 3 at the top and i guess two in the middle unless they went to the sump instead of out and yes there is a hole under the over flow

Nice free tank!
Whats the question?

my question is how would i filter it im not to sure on how to use a sump with that and if it could be cheap that woud be great to or can i use something else instead of a sump???

You can change up the way the tank filters but sumps are one of the easyier types of filtration IMO. Water overflows from the tank and falls into the sump. When it enters the sump, the water travels through various filter medias and then it is pupmed back into the tank. The pump in the sump determins your flow rate but you need to make sure the pump does not flow more water then your overflow can handle. You dont wat a pump moving 1500gph and an overflow that can only handle 1100gph...you'll empty the sump and overflow the tank. That pipe extending through the bottom of the tank should have a bulkhead fitting on it to seal that hole, if you dont have it you will need to find one. There is a DIY sump at the end of my tank build which is linked below.

SIMPle $200:

So you have a total of five holes?????Plug up two and use three holes........Two holes are used for intake and one hole used for outtake......In the DIY forum, you will find many inexpensive ideas on how to make a DIY wet/dry filter for under $100....I would suggest using a wet dry filter on tanks over 100g, it is fun and healthful for the you and your fish.......Purchase 2 AC101's for mechanical filtration......For more movement, stick in a powerful internal filter......All this should cost you under $200..........

im open to the idea of a sump im just scared im going to have a 100 gallon puddle on my floor but i can prevent that with an over flow box right???

i have a quick question, how do u determine the amount of water your overflow box thing can handle, someone made a reference to a pump moving 1500 gallons or whatever and the overflow only handling 1100 gallons, explain this further

Lots of sump builds and plumbing projects here in this forum and over in diy.Do a little looking around and reading.Once you understand whats going on and how to set it up,it wont seem as scary.
