I just got myself a 250g tank, which I want to use it for my Pacu, TGN and possible my longnose Gar. This Tank used to be saltwater and its cover with dried salt cake and algae. What I been told is to take a Vinager and use it to remove all those dried salt cake from the aquarium. Anybody got any idea? Can it be done converting saltwater tank into freshwater tank?

Conversion is fine. Just use the vinegar and wash it thoroughly.

Plain water will get the salt off, it just dissolves it.

Mine had stubborn coraline that had to be removed. The vinegar worked fine on the salt and algae but I had to step up to CLR to get the coraline off.

Rinse, rinse, rinse and rinse again.

I have a 55 gal in my garage like this. I gotta clean that thing one of these days. But I attempted to clean it before and it was tough.

Howdy,

Salt is water-soluble ;) It's hard water stains that you use vinegar for. And algae requires some ellbow grease...
