Got a wolf fish need help to I'd it

A friend of mine gave me his wolf fish. He is currently in a 65 gallon until he grows larger to be put in a 125 gallon but this is my first one and I'm not sure what kind it is. I've been doing research on them but just wanted to get some help from people with experience. Here are a few pics of him. Not sure if you can tell from these pics or not

Gotta get a underjaw shot of it...outside of the water. Very up close of able to see the pores. More than 90% it's a mala. This little guy looks like a malabaricus.

Agreed mala. To be sure will need a clean shot of the under jaw. Make sure to focus the camera and use flash. Also a side shot may be needed to count scales.
