woot, got an xp3 for christmas for my 55g. im now running 2 AC70s and this afternoon the xp3 in addition

Congrats. They're good filter but I don't believed it's performing as advertised 350GPH.

what filter media do you guys suggest? just use the provided? i have sponges in both ac70, ceramic rings in one, and carbon in the other

In my XP3's I have it setup like so.
First tray has the course black sponges it came with.
Second tray is filled with pot scrubbers from wal-mart (cheap yet extremely effective)
Third tray, bottom half is a few more pot scrubbers followed by the final white sponge that is provided.

Got a XP3 on my 72-Gallon bowfront. nice filters. i like mine alot. it was cheap too.

Here's how I setup my XP3 Christmas gift!

1st tray - 20/30 black sponges
2nd tray - bioballs from my sump and ceramic rings - separated by a divider that came with filter
3rd tray - bio zorb and the polishing micro pad

All trays have a combination of Ceramic Noodles and Seachems Matrix......
I have 2 XP3's on each tank.....no pads, floss or sponge pads.....
