hi,i got a 4" sveni today to go with my 6" sveni.they are in the same tank at the moment.can it work????has it worked for anyone else????

tank is a 100 gallon with all fish from my sig in it.

nice pickup pics please

i'll post some pics later tonight.i changed the substrate from a fine black gravel to sand today as well so tank is a bit cloudy lol.

You have a 50/50% chance of it workin. There is a change you will get a pair if you have opposite sex's...or you might have a real scrap on your hands as they try to rip each others gills out! Just keep an eye on them! ;) Being that large of a tank it most likely will be a little bit better odds in your favor.

the 6" sveni has taken an instant dislike to the new one.i'll keep a close eye.if it gets to much, then i'll take the smaller one back to my lfs.

taken the baby sveni back to the lfs this afternoon.the larger sveni would just pounce on it if it moved anywhere at all.it would not have been fair to the fish to keep it.such a shame as pike cichlids are very uncommon where i live.oh well, better to have one pike cichlid than none at all.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. :( But, good job on saving the smaller sveni. :)

Im wondering if I even want to try to pair adults.

would be better id have thought to purchase 3/4 smaller pikes and grow them on and see if a pair forms.nearly impossible to make a pair yourself.
