It was the summer of 2005 had for a new 10 gal tank...now i dint wanna have goldfish in there was practically sick of them......... so i got this weird Idea was watching The National Geography channel, and there they were the fish that has a very bad reputation for being killers The Red Belly Piranha, so I thought why not..?
So I go online and start doing a little reading for the same .i read that they are best kept in a school of about 6-8 fish .that very evening I go down to my LFS and enquire the guy had piranhas wohooooo I just couldnt wait so I ride back home askmy MUM for my pocket money in advance for the next month I could buy them, well to my good luck now I had the cash
so I ride back to the LFS and ask the guy if I could keep 6 of them, he says why not theyl do very well
.so I buy them .
Months passed buy and to my surprise they grew really fast ..so I put up some pics on a social networking site & they told me they were pacu piranha Mahn I felt like killin that guy at the LFS  .I noticed my tank was not enough because theyd always be restless and there was hardly any space for them to swim, now I could not buy a bigger tank.
I asked the guy if he would buy them back, he bluntly refused..!!! I was helpless the same week one of them died.
I have a friend whos got a well in his backyard so I asked him if I could put them in ? ( I never release any fish in the streams or lakes) he agreeded. The very same day I bagged them and dropped the 5 guys .
I very sincerely went there and tried to spot them but never did so I though the water was no good, or the other fish killed them.
About 6 months later we were just sittng on the edge of the well I spotted 5 fish about a foot long swimming there I asked him if he put anything in he was clueless I sat there all evening and next day returned and to my surprise they were not they were my PACUs .
Well now after around 3-4 years down the line they are roughly 3 feet long massive fellas will put some pics up when I get asscess. I want to fish them out and measure and weigh them but I really dont wanna put them through so much stress..!!!
I learnt a really good lesson to do as much homework one can do and only then jump in ....!!!
