i cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your water in check with rays. water changes are so simple to do, dont get lazy. the reason im saying this is we recently moved, and i put my tanks in the garage. life was hetic for a while, the tanks got neglected, water changes were random. the rays stopped eating for a month, one of em developed blood in its eyes. i felt like a failure, and an ass. thought i was going to loose them so decided i better change my ways. i got off my lazy ass and started doing more WC's, the rays perked up, started eating again, and the blood in the eyes went away. finally things are back to normal.

my stupidity and laziness almost caused my rays to die, water changes fixed it all, no salt, no heat, no meds. dont make noob mistakes like me.

just get off your ass and do a WC!

I do a 50 percent WC every other day. I like my rays to be used to clean water. I feel that the biggest difference other than space and food availability for rays in captivity and rays in the wild is water turnover.

IMO clean water is the secret to good ray keeping above all else.

Hopefully one day I will be savvy enough to get a constant drip system in order so the water is constantly being changed.

I am very sorry for your loss. Hopefully you learned from this and if you decide to keep rays inn the future you will pay better attention to them.

That is a no brainer, or atleast it should be.... It happens to the best of us, laziness.
