I picked up 3 small borneo tiger dats today for $60 at my LFS today. All three are stable so far. The guy said they were eating blood worms, but any ideas on how to switch diet to granules or carnivore? Thanks. Planning on picking up 3 more in a few weeks.

I will get some tmw. Just wanna let them get acclimated today. Any ideas on diet change?

Well keep feeding them the blood worms if that's what they are eating now. Then you can slowly mix in other foods soaked in the blood worm juice. Your going to need to keep at it, sometimes they catch on quickly and then other times you might have to starve them for a bit. You don't say how big they are, but if they are little buggers then I would wait on the starvation plan and just keep trying different things soaked in the blood worm juice.

Here's what I did with my first one first day I hand fed him frozen bloodworms did that 4 times a day till he had a full stomach then on the third day I cut a shrimp into strings he ate that also and on the 4th day I presoaked a arowana pellet stick so he could bite it ate half of it. But after that I decided to get more so I have a total of 17.. And hand feeding became a problem. But only three eats market shrimps the others are just bloodworms.

Thanks for the advice. I would say they are quarter size, so far one out of they have all eaten the bw. This is a good thing considering i just bought them today. I just noticed the that 2 of my dats r half yellow and half black while my other one is normal and beautiful. will it ever change to the normal colors?

Give them a while to settle in and hopefully they will all be stable soon, and as said above just get them eating well first before you try starving them onto pellets.
