My murderous male has finally settled down (for now). I have been unable to breed him since he was maybe 2.5". He was just too aggressive for any females I tried to introduce.
This is the first time this female has spawned. She has probably been in the tank for a year, and I had sort of given up on ever being able to breed my male. Then the other day I was surprised to find the female guarding wrigglers. I don't know what induced the change of heart, because I simultaneously changed several things in the tank. I added some platies, a hunk of moss, put the tank on a timed lighting schedule (for the moss), and allowed the algae to grow out.
For whatever reason, here they are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjMANUcCVbI
