now whats my chances of getting it to take pellts . I realy dont wana be buying feeders for this dam thing.

Its like 4 or 5 inchs right now. I coverd my tank with plastic and taped it down to prevent jumping . What can ya all tell me about them
 
you should just get him on beef heart. Mine loves it. Feeders aren't necessary. Just cut up some beef heart anf freeze it. Thaw as you need it. It helps them grow quite quick too.
 
well beefhart aint gonna be a problem soon. but i realy like all my fish to be eating pellets tho. Everything ive had has learned to eat them but they always been in comunity setting and seen everything else eating and learned to do the same.

Angie its been hideing since i threw him in my tank. once he calms down and comes out of hideing ima take some probly tonight i hope
 
If you go with beefheart you should add variety like shrimp meat and chopped frozen smelt. Straight red meat supposedly leads to fatty build ups, digestive problems, weakened bone structure, and sterility. I killed a texas cichlid that way.
 
the beefhart i get comes from patrick and it has shrimp and flakes and other things in it to. veggies all kind of stuff so that wont be proble,. Ide like to no how fast they grow and whats the chances to get them eating pellets.

Some pics would be great. They grow pretty fast at first until they hit about the 8"-10" mark, especially if you feed them beefheart, I don't know about them eating pellets, but I don't see why they wouldn't. I have never tried feeding pellets to mine.
 
All the ones that I had would eat Hikari carnivore sticks.
I just sold a lunker that would thrash the tank for pellets.

Just toss some in at lights out, if it doesn't eat, clean them out in the
morning and try again.

You going to try tank mates with your wolf?
 
I got it in wolf two jags one came from florida canals its my female. My male jag is the spawn from a breeding pair i had bought while back and since got rid of. And theres a Fh in there. Everything is bigger then him and dont seem to mind him in there as of yet.Im more worried about the jags picking on it then anything. Cuz the jags are starting to show breeding habits. We will see how things go with him thats for sure. Maybe grow him out and sell him or something i duno yet. got to see how cool it turns out to be
