and a couple of muds and one humongous Staurotypus Salvinii in the Barcelona Expoterraria fair.
The softshells are one baby Florida Softie ( Apalone Ferox ) and a baby Spiny...
could some of you guys give me the highlights of the differences between the two species? I would love to hear beyond whatever's in the net, counting on your "hands on " expertise....please

. I then suerd myself that I ll not let that happen ever again. But then the story had a sort of happy ending because that pair produced many babys in its life time
. But anyway yes there is a great deal of variacion between individuals. Oh and dont waist your time trying to indentify the subs your spiney belongs, most are simply crosses betwen western ones and something else. Floridas, at least on my experience, are very similar to spineys in behavior. All the Apalone species are "more or less social" ,and unlike Pelodiscus the chinese softies wich are so agresive that you must keep them individualy, whit this species you can generaly combine several provided that they are the same size and the habitat is large and has several decoracions to break the view. Ive keept this way my florida,a spiney and a few muticas. Dont combine however males. Oh and keep your new turts on a closer eye for fungus wich they are very prone to.
