Got my Arawana

Here is my new/first 5" arawana

im so happy.. also got 4 osca 4"

and next week i get my cichla ocellaris ^^

anyone got some sugestions to what i should feed my arawana with... it dosent want to eat arawana pelets.

very nice fish. none of them seem to want prepared foods at first. I have had good luck with the following: small crickets, moving on to alternating with small pieces of freeze dried krill, moving on to alternating with aro sticks broken in half. eventually you can phase out the other foods and keep him on sticks as primary diet, leaving the crickets for treats. that said, if you just got it, it might take a few days before it will eat anything. good luck.

are the pellets you talk about Hikiri arowana sticks? My arowana ate them since it was like 2inch in size (broken to smaller pieces) and loves it. If not you should definitely try the crickets and stuff mentioned above.

silver is very easy with food, just don't bother with cricket and go for blood worms or hikaki stick.

Im trying to feed it with Tropical Cichlide&Arowana medium sticks

will try some frozen blood worms tomorrow.

Don't fret about not eating...I bought my 3rdone two weeks ago and it didn't eat for a week, but now he can't get enough, stick to prepared foods there much healthier!!! and you don't have to worry about disease, they also keep your tank cleaner, how big is your tank?

the tank is 600Gal but only 5 fish in it at the moment ... kinda empty.

next week i get 25 cichla´s
