Got my first FH

First question whats the diff Btween male and female. I heard a spot on the dorsal is female and if so thats what I got. And my first concern is does this mean "she" wont get a big bump.

Second do they grow fast.

Hi, congrats on your new FH!

From what I have learned the female FH does have a spot in the dorsal. and she will not get a big hump.

As far as the grow rate, I have noticed mine are growing fairly quick. I think it depends on the food given and also their tank conditions.

I have seen the growth difference in my severum juvies (some in a 120, others in a 55) as being significant.

Yes if it is female you will not have much of a kok if any. However if she is nice there are advantages to having a female too. A pic would help because the spot thing is only around 80% accurate
