Tonight at feeding time I took a chunk of bloodworm cube and held it in between by fingers at the top of the tank, after hearing about everyone on here feeding there cichlids by hand. Well I didn't think that they would at all because they are all only juveniles even though I can tell their sex. Make a long story short put the cube in holding it and my JD "tank" swam straight too my hand circled it once like he always does if I put my hand in there and started nibbling away, then my GT "hulk" came up and started to eat too. Couldn't get my FM or my Texas "tex" to eat outta my hand. O well hopefully they will catch on:D:D:D

if i hold a piece of FD krill a few inches from the water my JD will jump out of the tank and snatch it with percision, he wont even let me get close to the water with food,,

it started out like how you are doing now, i swear!!!! if he gets my finger, with the amount of pressure in that damn bite, i will be bleeding all over the place,,, plus he got some big teeth ;)

Yea lol JD's seem to have pretty big mouths, and his is getting there in fact he is mouthing an obsenity to me right now little bugger...lol, I like him the best he has the most personality in my whole tank, and he has very stunning colors for being so young.

Here is my tank and a few of my fish

The first one is my firemouth
Second is my texas
Third is my JD
Fourth is an overall shot

nice set up.... would reccomend putting a back ground on, even more dramatic then....

Thanks!!! In one of those pics you can see the background rolled up lol I have no scotch tape. Its just a plain black background but thats all I ever use I like to make everything pop out.

Well did the same thing today, and ALL of them came up to eat from my hand. My JD nipped me once on accident but no blood no foul lol. I know he didn't mean to he's definately getting chunkier from when I first got him. BTW he doesn't eat the pellets that I put in for him only the other fish. He will only eat bloodworms and a little brine shrimp if I put it in there. Any suggestions as to get him to eat the pellets? And what else could I be feeding my little guys to get there colors to come out more than just feeding the pellets, and keep there digestive track regulated so they don't get bloat. My main focus is to get the JD to eat other foods.

my dad got his oscar jumping for pellets 2 days after he bought it at 2.5"
