got my GATF off of live

I starved him for about a week, week and a half started dropping freeze dried krill in the tank a few days ago, did that for a few days after while he started going up to the top (you know krill floats) looking but not biting, so today I cut up some smelt because that would sink and sure enough I dropped the first pieace in it caught the current and he caught the smelt

THE GATF IS OFFICIALLY OFF OF LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

ANYBODY ELSE HAD ANY LUCK WEANING THERES OFF OF LIVE
 
Congrats! I just recently got my 3 VATFs off live. It's a big relief isn't it. :D

I tried Krill but they just didn't have any interest. Although one of mine likes floating food sticks the other two only take Tilapia chunks.

I'd like to give them live once in a while but now I'm afraid if I do they will regress and stop eating non live.
 
Congrats. I had 1 GATF on Frozen Bloodworms but I didnt count that as "Off Live". Kept trying market shrimp and sometimes krill... no luck with me

I think pellets grow them the fastest aside from feeders... jmo :)

Don't worry after he takes the first piece it gets a lot easier. My biggest VATF eats Tilapia but still takes some coaxing. I only feed him every other day.
