First off, I would like to thank MFK member Cheesetain. Thanks for helping me find this amazing polypterus. Never expected to find one here until he told me that his LFS was carrying some. Thanks for asking the friendly owner of the LFS to reserve 1 for me. Although there are about 10 there when I visited
Saw some weeksii too, wanted to get one until the owner told me they cost like $120 each.

So I end up paying $13 for the palma polli as planned
Think it's monster? This baby poly is only at about 3". I got a 12" ornate, 8" delhezi and a 7" senegal and I just had to get this little bugger! Look at my senegal thinking it is food when I was acclimating it. I think I'll name it "Shark Bait" seeing how all the other polys tried giving a go at it.
Now now, before all of you start to flare at me, YES! I do know that the palma polli would stand no chance against the other bichirs, especially the ornate who looks like he could swallow the palma in 1 GULP! and Yes I don't have a grow out tank for it. So I brought one of those aquarium compartment for him.
After doing a drip acclimation (I usually skip this step but because its still a baby, I dont want to cause it unnecessary stress). He is now lying peacefully and safely in the compartment.
A shot from below
Index finger for reference to just how TINY is he
And the same index finger for my Ornate
His first Hikari sinking carnivore pellet, well half of it
FTS (Sort of)
What awaits him in the real world
