I have no energy left as I am trying to maintain all my hobbies, college, and work. I am just walking around half-dead/asleep the whole day. So yesterday I come home from school and my mother tells me she got me a present and points at one of the tanks. I look in and see 4 Clown Loaches!

I would like to get them their own tank as I am using the current tank they are in for some other fish. (Have 3 Blue Gouramis and a Gold Severum in there) What size tank should I look into? Note that I would like to get about 2 more Loaches as I hear they like to be in groups..

I would get a better picture but they are still scared of me and just swim away when I walk by. I got some nice driftwood and large rocks in there, they just disappear and you cant tell that they are even there...

More pictures once they will start coming out more..

nice loaches.....are they eating yet? ( i dont know size tank, sry)

Yup, they ate that same night. I dropped some blood worms in there and the Cory cats just attacked it and the Loaches follwed. :)

I miss my loaches. I had 12 at one point. But the pbass knocked a few off and I lost the rest due to an ick outbreak while I was away for a week. Hopefully I'll get some more soon. Loaches are so awesome-always moving and just awesome.

Cool fish, but it sounds like you've got an even cooler mom...

Clown loaches are very slow growers and I honestly have no idea what size tank you will eventually need. I do know however that they can get about a foot or more in length so its gonna have to be big.

How big are they now? Starting at 2 1/2 " I figure a year to double in size , maybe a little less, they slow down even more after six inches, at least mine did. should be fine with the fish you got for a while. most fish don't pick on them.

Yep, it'll probably take around a year to double in size, and as guppy said they slow down gradually... but they're great fish! The only thing that I don't care for about them is their low-resistance to ich, but other than that they're great fish. :D

Sweet loaches,

I wish my mum bought fish for me whilst I was at school...
