Just about to move to ontario so had to get rid of my aquarium, sob sob. Going to get a 40 gal when i get there not sure what dimensions yet though. I need help stocking it had all the usual stuff and some rarer things but now i want something predatory, will upgrade tank in the future when money allows and space isnt at a premium.

Does anyone have an idea for what i can get? Preferably 1 bigger fish.

bichir

Thanks we are on the same train of thought thats what i was thinking. which would be a good species to start with and what could i put with it:D

Thanks for your ideas, yes the tank will have a lot of wood in it so if bichirs hide what other predatory fish would be good, or can the right lighting bring out bichirs

im not to sure about the correct lighting to "bring" out bichirs or even if there is such a thing. You should give us something to work with like cichlids or oddballs, or.. throw us a bone. if your planning to upgrade a flowerhorn would be cool some of them can be predatorial and i mean even i think they look amazing. just something to think about

Ok i will elaborate for you, i would prefer an odd ball just because thats what i like. I have had some cichlids over the years but they are not really my thing unless someone suggests a fish id like but again im more likely going to go for an oddball

It's true, Oscars, Devils and Terrors are ordinary, but Cichlids are the most entertaining fish, with Crenicichlas taking the cake. Plenty of oddball pikes out there.

what pikes would you suggest can never seem to find any except the big ones and 'green dwarfs'
