I got a shad. I actually brought him home for my water snake but realized upon getting him home he was way too big. I dunno what I was thinking. Shad are delicate, and they usually die within a few hrs in the tank, but this one has been going for a few days. He hasn't eaten yet though, and they need a lot of food, so we'll see if he survives. He's beat up looking because I caught him in a cast net (another reason I'm surprised he even made it home alive).

I got a couple of decent close up shots of my big male blacktail shiner, tubercles and all. The white spots on his fins look kinda like finrot or injury but they're just his spawning colors. :)

Only darter I've ever had take flake food immediately upon entering the tank. Weird guy :\

My pair of logperch would not participate well in my picture taking. And one of the with a cube of beef heart. (Forgive the ugly algae. Water is high in phosphates and the algae isn't hurtful so I don't bother messing with it, esp since this tank is temporary growout).

Fat greenie guy. Found him early spring at under and inch long in a drainage ditch by my house. He's about 4+ in now. :)

looking good, although I find the flower pots and buildings to be more unattractive than the algae.

Lol, yeah. Since it's temporary I wasn't gonna spend money or time aquascaping, so the most important thing was to just provide places for the fish.

And FYI, they love that horrible tower we got in a box along with a used tank. It's prime territory.

No. They don't. Only my dat who sits on the bare sand angrily, critically eyeing the decor. He's judging me. I swear I'm not crazy...:D

lol^

Love your school of gars.
I can barely tell the difference between my rock bass and your shadow bass. Might have to do with me being new to this family of sunfish :)
If you ever want any rocks, let me know! I'd be willing to mail it out to ya.
