Picked up a few new cats today to grow out for the pond. 3 ID sharks 3-4", 3 Grass cutter catfish (Schilbe intermedius) 4-5"and 2 pictus cats 2" to clean up the tank.

Grass cutter catfish (Schilbe intermedius) these guys supposedly max out at 12". They kinda look lOok like a small wells cat. Couldn't find much info on them on here so I'll keep updates on them. They are a constant swimming schooling fish and so far has stayed on the upper half of the tank.

I'd sharks...everyone knows about them. Just no body seams to know how fast they grow so I'll try and document there growth.

Pictus ( Pimelodus pictus) I got these 2 just to clean the tank. And man do they do a great job. Right when I put them in they went straight to the bottom and cleaned up the massivore pellets. I'm pretty surer they max out at 5"

All of them are eating already and the ID and grass cutters are all swimming in 1 school. I'll post pics as soon as I can get my laptop to read my sd card.

Sweet!! We need pix tho, the grass cutters sound cool, I think I've seen them somewhere before..

theres a grass cutter cat in one of my books you want some of the info it has?

schilbe mystus grasscutter catfish
gets to 18'' long west and central africa...perfers cap pellets over live food...care is easy...closely related to an iridescent shark

Nice pick-ups.... Id sharks have a pretty good growth rate... I've raised a 1'' one to a 5'' one in a matter of a month.
