Yesterday my dad brought me home a small crappie. Any one know how to convert them to pellets? Iam thinking of getting it to take crickets first then start giving it pellets. We also got a new tank at school which has a small perch which weve been feed mealworms. Currently the crappie is in my 10 gal creek tank figured it would be easyer to convert him to pellets in there cuz the only other tank is the 120. I plan to move once i get it on pellets to one of the school tanks then after school is out he will be in the 120. :D Ill post pics of the crappie when i get a chanch today.

crappie on pellet? wow, i guess nothing is impossible. my spotted gar ate beef heart (cut into the shape of feeder.) the other day. who woulda thought that will ever happen.

Never tried to keep a crappie, because of its potential size for 1, and theyre not really too cute for 2, but...i wouldnt see why the conversion to pellets would be any different, starve him for a few days and then put in a few pellets. if that dont work repeat only longer with no food, he will convert or starve, cause once you bring him home he is yours forever.

Black Crappie look soooo GORGEOUS in the home aquarium! I think your crickets to pellets idea should work just fine. Beautiful specimen! Good luck with it. I have never had luck keeping Crappie but I hope you do so I can see the progress.

After it settles in I'm sure it will take live worms without a hassle.
