I bought a 75gal (all glass aquarium) band fish tank 3 to 4 years ago's, and well last year I moved and when I took the fish tank down I never put it back up.So its been sitting empty for a year and some month's and im wanting to get back into the hobbie but im worried that with the tank being empty for a little over a year that the silocon is bad and it will leak of bust.

So i've come back to where the experts are at for your oppinnoins

Note after a visual inspection the seal's look like there in the same shape as was when i bought the tank.

it should be fine but only one way to find out :grinno:

If they look "good" then I'd say it's good to go. But if you want to be super-safe, you can fill the tank up with water and let it sit for a week. If you see any leaks, then re-seal it.

Remember, re-sealing the tank is a benefit! As long as you know HOW to reseal, it's always a good thing to do ! You can reseal now if you want.

Good luck !!!!:headbang2:headbang2

ok thank's for the reply's i was thinking same thing and I don't think there will be a need to reseal it and if there is i will just go out and buy a 90gal and put on my stand as i don't know how to reseal.

I'm gonna go ahead and fill her up tommrow (lol), went out and bought some sand today and put a gallon of water in there to see if any drips acure overnight in my stand.

i recently found my parents old 20 gal that they got rid of right after they got married (somewhere from 20 to 30 years ago) and it's been holding some garden tools and a crap load of dirt for almost all of those years.

after cleaning it out, it never leaked. i resealed it anyways though.

if you really feel THAT nervous about it, read some tutorials and reseal it. its surprisingly cheap and easy considering the extra peace of mind. :)
