So over the weekend I ordered some F0 Rio Grijalva Salvini from Jeff Rapps. Ordered two pair and tossed them in to my 125g with everyone else while I prepare a 55g for a bonded pair. Their starting to brighten up and are very active. I think in part it is all the activity in my Tank. My Platys are huge and several are actually larger then they are. Have had minor aggression, but ussually thats when my Midas cruises over and they disperse as he checks them out. The clown loaches are also non stop now and add to alot of activity in my tank. So I am sure that will keep them focused on competing for food as long as they move when the big guy comes through.

Hoping that they do what my Plecos did. Just focus on growing and breed when I remove them. Want to get them 5" before breeding.

Sounds good! Throw up some pics or a video up when you get a chance :)

Wow nice pickup I still can't believe that big ass midas is so gentle. I am sure they will do very well in your care. Very aggressive though. My female salvini was the only fish in the tank who could fight my big male midas and win every time.

Oh and pics

one of the most aggressive fish i have owned, i brought some back from laguna de ilussiones a few years back, very pretty and mean prob not that far from the rio grijalva strain you have.....

Are you sure those Salvini are F0? I ordered a few from Jeff a couple of months ago and was not under that impression.
A quote from him on the thread I linked in my initial post thread.
Keep in mind that these are not mature adults. I didn't breed them here.
Also, this is from direct email I sent him back in Feb.
Hi Scott
Actually going to MX this spring and plan to bring back nicest salvini I find.
Thanks again, Jeff
He has them labeled as Rio Grijalva Salvini because thats where he collected them ;) So if you got some, yours are F0 two because back in Feb he had none and was going collecting.

Pics or it didn't happen. ;)
LOL, you were in Vegas. I could have shown ya in person.
aww I want some good luck getting a pair =]
Thanks
Salvini's are cool little fish but can be very aggressive.
Yep, my first female I got because the pet shop thought she was a baby JD. Grew her out and she paired with a GT I had. I think it was all the green speckling, but she fought all his battles. Later I moved and sold the GT. She was murdered later by my Amphilophus Zaliousus when he knocked down the divider. Sad day.

Will do a video this weekend. The Midas has gotten more agressive, but its towards his reflection when lights are off and anyone else who comes to the tank. He really gets excited when I come to clean his tank. lol

You got any pictures, would love to see them.
