Eh, just posting for some reassurance I guess...

As most of you know I got two marbled motoros from Mike last night.

The female has been really active and eating a TON but the male will not move. The only time I see him unburied is when all the lights are out and I sneak a peek. Im kind of worried about him. I think its just the jitters but the "what ifs" are always on the back of my mind. My water is good (actually just got done with a 25% change). Readings are 0-amm 0-nitrite and 20-30ppm nitrate with a pH of 7.6-7.8 temp is 85.

I acclimated the rays via drip for almost 2 hours.

Am I worrying too much?

Its just that out of the five rays Ive owned all have been active from moment they entered my tank and this guy is being a just a bit different...

mike is a great vendor, I think the rays he sold you should be fine. Don't worry and give him time!

From my experience you have nothing to worry about. I had a ray that was shy for the most part. He'd move every now and than, but would be buried most of the time. He would only come out during feeding, and when the lights were dimmed. I had him for about 5-6 months and he never changed even up to point when I sold him. They all have different personalities, so theres nothing to worry about, just as long as it eats, you should be fine. :)

^ Agreed ^

Is he at least eating? Ive had some VERY shy healthy rays before, eventually I ended up selling them because of it.
:(

I havent seen him eat yet. He is fat though so not too worried for now. Im sure Mike has sent me quality rays.

Here are some pics of the female...

(you can see the male buried under the female in the second pic)
