If by needlefish, you're refering to Xenentodon cancila (the common petsmart/petco type) its actually a freshwater fish by most accounts.

Found in fresh and occasionally brackish water in Asia; India, Sri Lanka, Burma (Myanmar), Thailand, and Malaysia.

there has been confusion over the optimal water conditions required by this species when kept in home aquaria, with the addition of salt to the water often being recommended.[4] In fact these fish do perfectly well in freshwater aquaria.[6]

I'd say you could probably add one more senegal without much trouble so long as have enough hiding spots and break up the lines of sight in the tank. And don't underestimate the bioload of a senegal, so be sure to keep up on your weekly waterchanges. Nonetheless I guarantee you that you will end up wanting to upgrade your tank... I know I sure do. Good luck
