I went in to get some feeder minnows to restock my feeder tank and ended up leaving with 10 convicts (8 regular, 2 pink) ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!! now I just need to set up my breeder tank and let the pairing begin. I hear these guys breed like crazy, right?

I had a very skittish female in my tank alone with a BN plec for 6 weeks, could not find a male con anywhere. Found one bout 50kms from my house, longish drive but it was worth it. Not more than 3 days later I had wigglers. So practiclly, they bred within hours of me introducing the male. Its been 3-4 weeks now since and havent had another spawn.
Do they give away fish just cause they dont want it? Or because they're trying to pull a wammy on you, knowing it will die soon after?
I wish I could get free fish. Then again, when I buy 12 feeders for a buck, I usually get 15 or more anyway, from Petclub.
