I have a 75 gallon planted and im switching up some fish and would like to have a lot of gouramis. the current stock is
1betta pugnax
2 honey gouramis
1 pearl gourami
1 opaline gourami
1 badis badis
and 7 zebra loaches

im wondering if i could get two or three more pearl and opaline gouramis, have two groups. I plan to get all females to cut down aggresion, do you think that would work in a 75?

I think your gouramis and other fish will all be in trouble with the badis badis in the tank. Gouramis from what I have seen like other fish but can get rough with each other at times even all females. Not sure of the gouramis you have mentioned but I think some of them get to 6 inches and could eat your plants.

:grinno:yeah i curently have a eighty gallon tank with two honey g,4opaln g,3 hillstreamloach, 2 pearl g, a female betta, and a small cray fish that almost always hides in the cave and only come out in feeding time:grinno:

im actually thinking now just four more pearl gouramis, but what do you mean about the badis?, its the most peaceful fish in the tank, its scared of everyone else all the time

You would be fine adding additional gouramis as long as you have adequate filtration on the tank. Badis badis are very peaceful fish. I have no idea what wild bill was thinking.

you could get 4 pearl gouramis and 4 more three spot or ophlane gourmia for a 75 gallon and the gold ophlane gouramis are asome a 75 gallon is 4ft long you can have TONS of 4 inch fish

thanks, i thought it would work, ill probablly go with 4 more pearl gouramis and maybe just one more three spot, or two lol

imma point out something no1 else has said. get rid of betta if u want gourami's they are very similar in genetics and in the wild are rivals. the will fight and one will be DEAD

well i already have four gouramis in their and the Betta Pugnax is fine, doesnt bother anyone so i dont think it will be a problem. He is the shyest fish in their. I wouldnt try keeping a betta splendens in their, but the pugnax is fine
