Gourami ID...Giant??

well my friend gave me this cuz he said he already had one but we both notice that the facial structure is kinda differen't compared to most giants so i figured i post on here and see what you guys think

not really bummed out about it, my and ethnics kinda figured he wasn't a giant so i expected it, ill prolly end up trading him to my local fish store because i can't really keep him in any of my tanks cuz hes small, no biggy tho i got him for free from ethnics
 
I've seen some of those Gouramis labeled as Giant Gouramis. Especially at Wal-Mart. Those aren't true Giants. The Giants can get close 2' Seen them in other lfs selling them as Dwarf or Strip Gouramis.
 
That is actually what is called in the fish world a 'giant gourami' C. fasciata is correct. The real giants are Osphronemus and have zero color at that size.
 
That is a small Colisa Lalia...might be a good feeder:nilly:
