My gourami has developed some sort of bump underneath his skin next to his mouth after a temp drop in my tank (I forgot to plug in the heater after a water change). There is also a red speck in the middle of it and some sort of white thing hanging out of it (not very big),but it kind of looks as though it is shaped as a v. He has some labored breathing and fins are moving fast. He would hide out for a bit then hang out at the top of the tank. I moved him and the female gourami into the hospital tank to treat them. I bought the API general cure, but have not administered it yet. I am baffled to what this might be, parasitic or bacterial or what? The female has a red splotch on her face, but that could have been caused by the male, I don't know.
