Governor cutting funding for zoos and aquariums!!!

the govornor is going to cut funding for zoos and aquariums with the new budgett cuts!! aaahh!!!

The Governor, in a budgeting cut back issue, is seeking to slash the aquariums, botanical gardens and zoo's by as much as 55% this year and 100% next year. As you are aware this will have major impacts in every aquarium society and for every person throughout New York. Please support this petition and fight the devestating cuts. It is unknown as to why the aquariums, botanical gardens and zoo's will have such deep cuts when other entities will receive 20% cuts. All we are asking for is fairness for all.

Please have your family, friends and club members complete and submit these forms as requested. The cut off date is February 1, 2009 so please act now!!!!

Well with our current economy, tax increase would mean alot of people angry at governor. Cut to funds for exhibits = smaller amount of angry people. I don't agree with it either, but many would consider these as luxuries instead of educational or informative exhibits. Think of schools that receive budget cuts. What courses are the first to go? All the arts, craft, shop go first.

Ummn taxing an extra dollar or spending a dollar less has the exact same affect on the bottom line.

Only difference is in one case people keep the money they earn and spend it how they want; in the other case the government gets the money and spends it how they want.....
