I'm thinking about getting a Grammados for my up and coming 90g tank. Would it be possible for it to have tankmates in with him for life? If so what would be the best tankmates for them...

Depending on the size of your grammodes you can be pretty succesful with many fish (types of fish not numbers). I've said it before and I'll say it again. GT's make great peacemakers when they are twice the size of your most aggro fish. So if your grammodes is 4 inches get a 7 inch gt. I had a 6-7 inch grammodes (now fatdovii's) that i kept with many fish of all sizes. he would dominate the larger and equal size fish and leave the smaller ones alone since they posed no threat. My current 4 incher holds his own with A wildcaught festae female (6 inches) and a CB male festae (6.5 inches). I also have barred midas, A small female dovii, and a synspilum. This is in a 5 foot 100gal. Overcrowded but succesful.

Putting a group of fish together, and letting them grow together often works well.
If you get only the grammode 1st, (or almost any cichlid for that matter), let it get established and then try to ad another, your letting the 1st one acquire territory(as in the entire tank) this then spells disaster for anything you ad latter.
If you 1st add 2 cichlids, they will often divide the tank in half, then add a 3rd, overnight it's probably going to be dead.
If you want a bunch, add the bunch all at once or expect carnage.

Thanks guys for the advice on introducing the fishes to the new tank..I didnt get the Grammados but got a pair of tbar cichlids instead..and might get the two left over males or a Green Terror..so I might just do what you guys say and introduce them all at the same time to the new tank..again Thanks a bunch!
