All- I have a pair of Grammodes and since the male is tolerant of the female ... They actually stay together in the same large Cichlid Stone complex I beleiv they will eventually breed. My question is .. What is how large do the female and the male have to be to spawn? The male is about 5" and the female is about 3".

They can spawn at the size yours they are now, it is about the same size as mine were when they spawned.
Mine spawned at least 3 times before the male killed the female, but because yours have other target fish in the tank as distractions/targets, you may be more lucky.

You can judge size, she and the eggs are in 3" PVC.

Yes I have a a group of 5-6" tinfoli barbs and a female Red Devil in with them in a 120H. I person I bought them from had them in a 55g with no dithers and the female was hiding alot becuase she was was being stressed by the male. The larger tank and addition of the fast moving dithers seems to help. The male shows his gills more at the red devil than the female grammodes. The reason I sposted this is becasue they are acting like a bonded pair evn at this size.
Thanks,
JP

To induce spawning, I collect rain water, and do a large water changes with it, 2-3 degrees F cooler than the normal tank water.
As you can see, I allow algae to grow rampant for the fry to graze on.
