Pimped my grammodes tank this weekend so I had a chance to measure him. I got him last year when he was 3". I put him on the ruler this weekend and he barely touched 6". He eats a little more than he used to, but I think grammies grow slow cuz they don't eat like my other fish. I've tried putting other fish in there with him so he may feel compelled to compete for food, but he kills them all. I can coax him into eating maybe 4 Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets a day at best. Most days he won't eat that much. He's a nice grammodes though.

My smallest male had a growth spurt and ate a lot in my 360 but was too aggressive. I took it out two weeks ago and is now just with a female. Now, it's back to eating a few pellets a day 
A friend of mine had the same problem. The fish would hide all day, barely eat, and then kill anything that was thrown in there.
