hello, iam going tomorrow to pick up my fish from don conkel and i have a chance to pick up some 3.5" grammodes....

so i wanted to ask how to sex them correctly, i have herd of a way that females dont have red dots across the body or head but when i saw some somewhere else which were smaller they all had red dots across their bodies and head.

so whats the best way and other ways.

also i have herd that they get aggressive when puts some size on,what sizeis that. as i want to keep them in a community as the intended tank isnt set up yet.

I welcome grammode owners to show pics of theirs:headbang2

thanks dave

there are a lot of threads on grammodes picture
males have red spots along and below the lateral line, females lack them

go search for pictures i posted a while back when i still had them

Mine were pretty aggressive around 4-5". I had a Midas, Flowerhorn, and an Oscar that were all afraid of him. He and the Midas would flare at each other, but that's all the further they went.

Here's a pic of my old male.

Cool lookin fish

they stand their ground against any fish of any size. They dont really seek out and destroy like some but will defend and attack like a mini dovii basically. They max out at about 10" some bigger like gani's, but they take I'd say almost 3 years to reach that size.

Yeah that sucks about them, do you have a picture of a female? or a pair?

Here's a pic of my old female. She looks really dark, since she was guarding her fry at the time.
